Users can now reset their own passwords with the password reset self-service feature on the login

page of NCAtrak.

NOTE: In order for the password reset feature to work, the user must have a unique email address

associated to his/her NCAtrak account. This means the email address is listed in the user’s NCAtrak

profile.

Common Issues

Password reset email is not received.

This is likely caused by having no email address set for you in your NCAtrak profile. Verify that

your NCAtrak account has the correct email address associated to it. You can check this by

clicking on “Update My Profile.”

NOTE: If you are not able to log in to NCAtrak anymore, your center’s Security Officer/Admin can

help update your profile via the Personnel page and enter the correct email address for your

account.

Once this is added, you can follow the steps for resetting your password.

Password reset email is not received even if an email address is listed in the

user’s NCAtrak profile or the password reset email is received but after clicking on the link to

reset the password, an error is displayed.

If you already have an email address associated to your NCAtrak profile but you are still not

receiving the password reset email, this may be due to security settings for your network or your

email account. Since the password reset email has a URL or a clickable link in the email, this may

be blocked by your office network.

In order to fix this, have your center’s Security Officer/Admin change your email address to a

non-work email, like a Yahoo email or Gmail account. When this is done, you can do your password

reset either on your smartphone (which is not connected to your office network/wifi) or your

computer at home.

NCAtrak keeps asking user to reset their password after session times out or user logs out or even

after just doing a successful password reset.

If you are using Internet Explorer (IE 11) to access NCAtrak, clear the cache first. While on the

IE window, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete all together. The window for clearing IE cache will appear.

Make sure to uncheck Preserve Favorites website data and check Passwords, Temporary Internet Files

and Cookies then click Delete.

You should get a confirmation that it is done at the bottom of the IE window.

After this, close all IE windows. Once done, try to access NCAtrak by typing www.ncatrak.org

manually into the address bar. If you have any shortcut icons or links in your Favorites for

NCAtrak, delete those and create new ones.

When you are at the NCAtrak login page, you can reset your password. Your new password

should now work and NCAtrak will not keep asking you to reset it.
