Simple Cases
The whole point of using a case management system is to record information about your clients and the services that you are providing for them. Step 1 is getting the information about the case – who the client is and what happened – into the system. The first thing we will learn this week is how to enter simple cases – cases with a client and an event and some services to record. See the video below for a demonstration. After watching the video enter 3 cases into NCAtrak to try out the case creation process.

Complex Cases
If only all of our cases involved only one client, one caregiver, and one offender. Unfortunately, we see very complex cases that may involve multiple caregivers, multiple victims and sometimes multiple offenders. Wouldn’t it be great if we could enter information about all of the people on the case at the same time and share as much information as possible between the people? We can! See the video below about entering complex cases in NCAtrak. After watching the video, try entering 3 complex cases to see how the process works.

Adding Names and Searching
One of the options that we have in NCAtrak is to add people to the database who aren’t associated with a case. Once we have data in the system, we need to be able to find the cases and the people. The video below shows how to add people to the system and how to search for people and cases.
